I am SO excited to show you all this beautiful Fort Vancouver wedding I photographed in September! The venue is so historic with gorgeous details throughout. The best part was, of course, the couple and their families. Some of the sweetest, most welcoming, most down-to-earth people I’ve ever met! And the couple met playing Magic: The Gathering, which was incredibly cool to get to photograph some Magic cards in the flatlay. Your girl is a nerd and you bet I nerded out on this one. Also, all the blues and crisp whites in the colour palette made me so happy, to say nothing of how sweet and fun everyone was the whole day.
Having an in-home newborn session doesn’t have to mean they’re brand new to the world. Sometimes you plan for the newborn session and, say, your preschooler gets sick the day of and you have to reschedule. So this newborn session was more of a 1 month old session which, you know what, is kind of my favourite. They’re so alert and curious. They’re starting to figure out that whole smiling thing. They recognize the shapes of the people they love who care for them. And we still get the sweet sleeping photos and photos with big siblings.
I was originally hired to do Super 8 videography (look for that post soon!), but the bride also requested that I bring my film camera. And I cannot tell you how incredibly exciting and fulfilling it was capturing their day on 35mm film! I can’t wait to do more weddings solely on film; there’s nothing like it. And it suited the vibe of the 70s camp wedding so perfectly.
This Butte, Montana summer wedding was one I stepped in to shoot. And reader, I can’t tell you how happy I am that I did! The bride and groom were the absolute sweetest, most laid-back people. Their families and friends were so welcoming and funny. Weddings like these with people like these are the reason I love capturing weddings like I do!
I remember rounding this corner the first time I went on a hike here years and years ago and thinking “this is perfect. This is the kind of place I always want to do photo sessions.” So before we moved home, I put out a model call for a family to do a Maclay Flats family session here and I can’t tell you how wonderful it was.

When this couple contacted me to do their couples session, they asked if they could bring their horses, as they both compete in rodeos. I naturally freaked out and said yes, of course are you kidding please bring the horses. We pivoted to a simple Missoula adventure maternity session with just their ranch dogs once they found out they were expecting and it honestly turned out so dreamy. (But I do highkey want to do a session with horses one of these days, hint hint).
