I put out a model call a couple weeks ago for families who wanted to get out of the city and go on a little adventure and had the absolute pleasure of getting to meet this sweet mom and her even sweeter little boy. He was the absolute cutest: so talkative, curious, and playful (as you can see).
And can we talk about where we decided to go?
Snoqualmie Falls is one of my favourite little places to go within about half an hour of Seattle. You may know it better as the waterfall from the "Twin Peaks" opening. The upper falls viewpoint gives you that classic "Twin Peaks" shot of and the Great Salish Lodge (your Great Northern from the show), but the lower falls viewpoint gets that classic shot of the entire falls, access to the river, and has the bonus of not being nearly as crowded as the upper falls viewpoint.
Little Si is about 20 minutes away and, mch to my surprise, quite the hike! I read how there were some switchbacks and quite the initial elevation gain but I was not prepared for just how steep it was going to be and how much my 26 weeks pregnant self was going to be huffing and puffing up to the ridge that overlooks the valley. But that view? 100% worth it, 10/10 would hike again.
